Maypole Green Farm

A 200 acre farm in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, near the market town of Bury St Edmunds, it’s been in our family for four generations. The farm has taken a few different shapes over the years being home to dairy cows, poultry, pigs and even a few sheep,  these days it is mostly arable crops including; Sugarbeet, Barley, Wheat and Oilseed Rape. The rare breed pigs are the latest addition, they certainly bring some character and noise to the farm! The shed which the pork is sold from is on the farm, please get in contact if you’d like any information, to buy some pork or to see any of the pigs.

Pigs aren’t the only rare breeds on the farm, we also have a mother and daughter pair of Suffolk Punches, Ida and Darcy, who we sometimes show to help support this critically rare local breed. There’s also Bambi the Exmoor Pony who are classed as endangered on the RBST Watchlist.

We also have a small but growing flock of rare breed chickens, so hopefully in the near future we will have a selection of free range eggs for sale too. …And last but definitely not least there’s Murphy the rescue lurcher, who supervises all the pig feeding rounds!
